Bevel App: What Is Free, What Is Pro, and Who It Fits

Bevel went mostly free, and that confuses people in a good way. The scores cost nothing. The AI coach and your lab work cost $14.99 a month. Here is where the line sits.

One disclosure. I build Mallet, so I am a competitor. This is a read of what Bevel publishes about itself, checked against its help center and App Store listing on October 10, 2026. It is not a lab test of its scores.

What Bevel Is

Bevel is an iPhone and Apple Watch app. It takes the data your watch already collects and turns it into recovery, sleep, strain, and stress scores. It also logs food and strength training.

You do not buy hardware from Bevel. It reads Apple Health, and it lists Garmin, Oura, and Google Health as sources. The app needs iOS 18 or later. The watch app needs watchOS 10.6 or later.

What Is Free

More than most people expect. Bevel's own pricing page puts all of this in the free tier:

  • The scores. Recovery, sleep, strain, stress, and the Energy Bank.
  • Food logging. Barcode scan, photo, recipes, and a nutrition score.
  • Strength Builder. Sets, reps, and routines that sync between the watch and the phone.
  • The rest of the daily kit. Fitness tracking, health monitors, cycle tracking, a journal, the watch app, widgets, and the timeline.

The free tier is the real product, not a demo. That is the part worth respecting.

What Bevel Pro Adds

Pro is $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year in the US. Trial length varies, so check the upgrade screen in the app.

Pro featureWhat it does
Bevel IntelligenceThe AI coach. Answers questions about your data and suggests when to train and rest
Health RecordsUpload lab results and clinical records. A scan pulls the markers out
Biological AgeCalculated from nine blood markers and updated weekly
Training PlansPlans built by the AI coach
Family SharingOne subscription across a family group

The Limits Worth Knowing

  • No Android app. Bevel can read Google Health and Fitbit data. The app itself is iPhone and Apple Watch.
  • The lab scan is not editable yet.Bevel's help page says a marker the scan misses cannot be added by hand to an existing record. A clearer upload is the fix.
  • Biological Age is picky about one marker. It needs lymphocytes as a percentage, not an absolute count.
  • It is not a medical device. Bevel says so itself. No wellness app is, including mine.

Who Bevel Fits

The Apple Watch owner who wants recovery scores without buying a strap. The person who wants food and lifting in the same free app. If that is you, the free tier may be all you ever need.

It fits less well if you are on Android, or if the thing you are trying to manage is a supplement stack, a peptide cycle, or a GLP-1 protocol. Those are not in Bevel's published feature list.

Where To Look Next

If you are deciding between Bevel and hardware, read Bevel vs WHOOP or Bevel vs Oura. If you want the simpler Apple Watch option, read Bevel vs Athlytic. If Bevel already works and something is still missing, that is the Bevel alternative question.

Bevel shows you the week. Mallet is for the layer after that: supplements, protocols, labs, food, and training in one plan. Get early access →

This Week

Use the free tier for two weeks before you pay for anything. If a score changes one real decision, Pro may be worth it. If you keep opening the app and nothing changes, the missing piece is not more data.
